The Great Ammo Shortage (And Price Spike) Of 2021: When Will It End?Anyone looking to “load up” or even to replenish their supply of ammunition will likely have to remain patient – at least for a while longer. The “great ammo shortage” that began last year isn’t going to end anytime soon, and according to market research conducted by Southwick Associates shortages of ammunition will continue throughout the rest of 2021. Why an Ammo Shortage? If you’re finding it hard to purchase ammunition right now, you’re not alone and that is a reminder of the basic supply and demand problem. Demand simply continues to outpace supply – even as some of the leading manufacturers have ramped up production, with some factories running around the clock. One issue is that consumers buy what little ammunition hits the shelves out of fear, and Southwick Associates warned, “The frenzied purchasing often feeds further increases in demand.” In other words, hoarding by the consumer creates a vicious cycle that makes it hard to find a product that is so in demand. linkGee, I wonder why people are hoarding ammo. Could it be the crime spike due to covid? Let me think on that for awhile while I clean my gun.

COVID Outbreaks At Taiwanese Chipmakers Is Latest Threat To Global Supplies...two more Taiwan tech suppliers have been hit by new clusters of COVID-19 cases, creating another disruption to production that’s threatening to have an outsize impact on the global supply chain. According to Nikkei, King Yuan Electronics Co suspended all domestic production on Friday, while chip packaging and testing supplier Greatek Electronics and networking gear provider Accton Technology have also reported clusters among employees that have impacted production. Both Greatek and Accton have production sites near a King Yuan plant in Miaoli County which has confirmed at least 263 cases as of Sunday (219 involving foreign workers mainly from the Philippines. Around 30% of the company’s workers are migrants). Most of the cases have been linked to workplace outbreaks, with King Yuan workers accounting for half the infections. As a result, the company and local government officials are asking all foreign workers to shelter in place inside their dormitories (typically cramped environments). link
Well, that's damn convenient when there are worldwide shortages.

I was watching alt news this morning and they were talking about a glass shortage. So I looked it up. Here's how shortages in glass, lumber and more are hitting home construction..."There's glass, there's cement, there's anything made of aluminum, there's anything made of steel. We can't get drywall at a decent price, copper products, pipe, everything's through the roof," Durden said. "Lumber's gone through the roof, but everything else has gone up faster than the rate of inflation." And there's one more shortage: people. "We're desperately short of skilled labor and have been for a million years. When there's a big demand in the marketplace, like there is now, that shortage is exacerbated because everybody has enough work to do and they'd like to add capacity, but there isn't anyone who's ready, willing and able to do it," Durden said. ..."It's not just that prices are going up; it's how quickly they're going up, and nothing's coming down," he said. "And it's not just the case that the item - particularly lumber - is so high, but that you can't get it, no matter what you're willing to pay." link

Taco Bell, Starbucks warn of product shortages due to “covid”Trouble is brewing in fast-food paradise as junk chains Starbucks and Taco Bell warn customers that they are running out of food and beverages, allegedly due to the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19). For the past several months, certain items have been missing in action from the menus of both chains. Starbucks is telling customers via its mobile app and in stores that “due to supply shortages, some items are temporarily unavailable.” Such items include green tea, which Starbucks customers are complaining has been in and out of stock on a regular basis for several months now. At Taco Bell, the situation is much the same with hot sauce packets in short supply. link

If they just let people WORK for a living, we wouldn't have shortages of product or the workers. But especially here in the USA, the unemployed are getting more money for not working than those who have worked the entire time.

California Pork Ban? Bacon Shortage Could See Prices Jump 60 PercentThe price of bacon could soar by up to 60 percent in California when an animal welfare proposition kicks in at the start of next year, according to a study. California's Proposition 12 mandates space requirements for confining certain animals and prohibits the sale of meat and eggs from animals that are kept in places that do not meet this standard. Proposition 12, which introduces regulations for egg-laying hens, veal meat and pork meat, was overwhelmingly backed by voters and will come into effect from January 1, 2022. link
