A Little About Channeling.
This is just a short post to say that in my experience as a conscious channel the feelings that are present during a session indicate a connection to some higher place. I prefer to speak in terms of the various planes and sub planes which are a part of our planet. The are those which constitute the Earth’s Heavens. We are all connected to many of these as a matter of course, every day. Indeed it is from these that we maintain our vitality. That is the purpose of our chakras after all. But to knowingly and willfully connect with another person via one of these is not ordinary. When I channel I am in a semi-conscious state. I am aware of my body but have trouble moving it. It feels like going to sleep but not quite. We feel sort of almost asleep. Half in and half out. This is caused by the willful, purposeful, deliberate separation of the astral body from the ethereal/physical. In this state I either speak to a group or write in private. No matter. There is a rush of ideas and images that sometimes come at me so fast that I cannot keep up. Later I try to analyze with the aim of improving the resulting narrative. One thing I note, always note, is that after the session ends and I "come down" again and read what transpired I find that since the connection is gone and the "magic" with it, the narrative lacks the vitality it seemed to have just a few moments before. This tends to verify the shift in consciousness which is so much a part of channeling.
The above is the way it is with me so very often. So to compensate I always try to write quickly before I forget what was given. I also try to proof read immediately but this is not easy as I am often tired from the effort. Those who are new to channeling should limit a session to 45 minutes or less. If you go longer the next day you’ll wake up with a headache. This goes away after a couple of years of practice.
These comments seem to confirm to me that the connection was real and not imagined. One more thing that I didn't say is that the usual progression of time seems different too. As we ascent in the subtle (spiritual) worlds time slows the higher we go. In the astral, on average, an Earth hour is only about 42 minutes. There is much more that can be said about this aspect of our world.
I've been at it now for three decades plus. I know from speaking with other channels that most of this is common. The last thing to say is this. When a session begins it does so suddenly. I can feel it. I feel the connection being made. And I can sense now that my consciousness is expanded too. Later it stops and things go back to normal.
Back in the nineties I did channelings in public for groups in a rented room. Now I channel and write papers on various topics. My main source is Bartholomew. He takes that name from a lifetime of his in the fourth century AD. I have channeled others too. It depends on those in attendance. Once during a session I stopped. I felt suddenly confused. Then the vibes changed. A new male connected. It was Plato, the one from history. He spoke to a girl in the audience whose was known to him. She recognized and got pretty excited about the whole thing. We were all surprised. I had never before known Plato. From that brief connection I learned some things about him that do not appear in history books. It is little events like this one that convince me of the authenticity of the method of communication. Still care must be taken.
Many speak of protections. It is important to understand that those discarnate humans who like to cause mischief and those others who are meaner are limited in their access. The lower the spiritual level the greater the separation from the “source”. “Evil” is only a convenient way of describing “separation”. There is a certain point near the upper astral that is a high as they can go. So… Those entities who cause trouble cannot go higher. All we have to do to avoid trouble is to learn how to do it and then to stay above that point. It is not so hard but it takes willpower and practice. Beginners are advised to study and employ protections. A good hint would be don’t try to accomplish something using emotional (astral) energy. Go higher. Use mental (plane) energy instead.
As a point of further information for those who may be more than just a little interested. In the past 10 years I have discovered the ability to access and examine the ethereal fields and auras (auras are made of ethereal matter) of others remotely. Bartholomew helps me with this and when so engaged it is like the other person is standing right in front of me. All I have to do then is to “turn on” my palm chakras and reach out. I can feel the body and especially the chakras. After this an intuitive connection is made and a narrative begins… This has been verified enough in the past ten years that there can be no doubt that it works. Then I type a couple of pages in a story format including a variety of topics. I call these soul readings. I’ve done these for people all over the world. It makes not the slightest difference where they are in the physical. I say this to demonstrate that the business of channeling is multi-faceted. There are always new things to discover.
I am relating all this, not to toot my own horn but, so that those who have an interest might gain some insights. Will you experience the same things as I? I would say that you would, yes but not necessarily in the same way. I'm a Gemini after all and we tend to overdo things. We can easily do seven things at once and never miss a beat.
I am the world’s foremost skeptic. I demand proofs all the time. I never believe a thing just because any certain person says it. My belief is that we should only believe that which our conscious, rational mind can accept.
If there are those reading this who think they have a calling to be a channel I say just relax and allow it to happen. There is not too much difference between a writer with a vivid imagination at work on a novel and a channel doing his or her thing. I think the two are very similar.
A last comment is this. Just before I began conscious channeling I was contacted by my friend in spirit, Bartholomew, in an explicit way (via automatic writing). I have spoken with others who shared such an experience. Is this common? Maybe. The prospective channel might watch for such an event.
