From my experience of my spiritual awakening it was revealed to me that the 5 key lessons to learn in our lives is;
LOVE, COMPASSION, EMPATHY, FORGIVENESS & GRATITUDE.
This is what will help us to move forward in our spiritual evolution. Don't worry if you don't learn them all, you get to come back and play the game again (reincarnate) until we do.
Don't get this confused with awakening from the illusion of the fog that clouds our minds of all the atrocities committed on Earth. This awakening is about uncovering the truth of the latter.

All the things happening on Earth are to facilitate our lessons.
I'm old school. I was taught we only have to conquer what is in our own back yard. In other words if you were bullied in school, or had an aunt that shunned you and made you feel inferior, spent most of your childhood in bed and away from other kids your age, or born with a deformity, none of which were events setting up my lessons; as an adult one must rise above the feelings of anger, embarrassment, rage, or inferiority, due to those childhood events.
That's all I want to accomplish in this lifetime. And the one thing I am sure not to do is "should" on myself.

We have our own inner demons to battle as well as you have stated. There is no right or wrong. Just, is. |

In the long run what you wrote in your OP is the goal, but in this lifetime, it's the basics for me. I can't meditate, I can't do chakras, because I have attention deficit disorder, I can no longer image in my head, probably just because of age.
I know my limitations and I accept who I am. For years I tried and tried and felt a failure, but I've realized it's just in me for this lifetime. And I love and accept myself to say no more trying. There are those that say, "oh, just do this or do that." I stopped listening to them a very long time ago.
So this lifetime is learning my lessons and leaving it there. I can see my progress on the "big scale" when I get to the other side.
I did see a psychic once, a stranger, really. She actually seemed a bit surprised that she received a message for me from the other side. In it they told her to tell me that I was doing great. I'll leave it at that.

If you take the context of this song and tweak a bit into a spiritual version (a wanderer, that's me). The girls & towns he refers to in the song are planets/dimensions visited and lives lived within. If you can get your head around that cryptic message.
