Ultra-processed foods like chicken nuggets, sweet breakfast cereals and fizzy drinks aren't entirely bad.
They're often cheap and easy to prepare, and they keep for longer on the shelf.
They're also scientifically developed to be what the human brain considers tasty.
But they often contain high levels of fat, salt and sugar, meaning there are serious health risks that come with their long-term consumption.
Experts say Australians have now reached a point of dependence on ultra-processed foods, as cost-of-living pressures push healthier options out of reach for many.

How do we solve this? Easy. Stop being lazy and a slave to convenience, find natural alternatives and put the time and effort into researching and creating your own version of what you'd buy and consume that is "highly processed", at least you'll know what is going into what you're making and consuming. If that's too difficult to achieve or conceive, consider the health implications and cost of prescribed medications, visits to your doctor/specialists caused by consuming the 'convenience' food does to your health. As it is scientifically proven that all highly processed foods consumed regularly will cause some form of inflammation and or disease. Maybe that will help you decide to stop eating that processed shit.
